Friday marked the END OF FALL CLASSES (wahoo!), so that night Emily, Kelly, and I celebrated with a random adventure to Milwaukee. We hadn't really planned to go that far, but Ferrantes in Mequon turned out to be a bust (we bailed after sighting the porcelain chicken decorations...eeek!), so Milwaukee it was.
We ended up at Louise's in Cathedral Square. Yum! I had been there twice before, once with roommates and later with Kelly. But it was Emily's first time, and she totally approved. Across the street was one of Milwaukee's decked-out parks (above), so we took a stroll until we started to freeze.
Next, was Alterra on the Lake. None of us really wanted coffee, but Emily grabbed some water and I got their Petal Pushers tea. (Yes, I feel a little awkward whenever I order that. But if you've ever had Petal Pushers, you know it's worth it.) After chatting a bit, we took North Lake Drive to see how the Milwaukee millionaires decorated their mansions for Christmas.
On our way back, we stopped by the newly renovated Bayshore town center. Since I've been out of the loop these last few months, I had no idea what this would be like. Turns out it's PHENOMENAL. They've turned it from a trashy, 15-store "mall" to a place where people can actually shop. I've never see anything like it, really. All of the stores have outside
entrances, and there are winding sidewalks and not-so-busy roads running thru it. Call me a sap, but the Christmas lights, music, and MASSIVE tree, make it a really fun for Christmas time! We checked out the new grounds until Kelly and Emily nearly froze to death (wimps!), and then headed back for good 'ole Cedarburg.

I love Fridays because they're so spontaneous. If you know me at at all, you'll know that my middle name isn't exactly "spontaneity." (O.C.D. is more like it!), so Fridays usually give me a chance to throw out my day-planner and relax! Sorry to bore you with all the details...but I just love Milwaukee at Christmas time. So that's what I'm blogging about ;-)

I'm sure that seeing that picture of Milwaukee will fill Holly with longing, but it just makes me glad I live in North Carolina. Coldness is too cold for me.
Snow!! I want snow!!
Look how Christmas-y it looks! I want Christmas-y!!
If it helps, it rained this past weekend, and for the past two days it's been 50 degrees and sunny. That equals no snow.
