Mrs. Lesinger would be so proud.

Wednesday was one of the BEST days of the year: π Day. Actually, there are few days greater than π Day. (Yes, I'm an utterly, hopeless nerd, but I like it that way.) π Day always reminds me of my roots--my good 'ole high school days, Math Team and all. So... for the first time EVER...I made a Pi pie (with cherries). I believe I've begun a new tradition for myself.

Why is this such a big deal, you ask? Well, how the heck else would you know the area of that pie pan? (70.882124 sq. in. Thank you, π)

This may be a tangent, but this is definitely the week of other great holidays:

March 14 - π Day
March 15 - Ides of March (we almost celebrated with a Caesar salad...maybe next year.)
March 17 - St. Patrick's Day

I may not a math major, Greek, or Irish, but these are still great holidays! Three cheers for March!!!

You have waaaay too much time on your hands! I have to say I'm a little disappointed in your apron choice...I was thinking Lucy.

Did you save us a piece of pi(e)? I'm disappointed that we didn't get a "happy pi(e) day" card or anything! You're slipping through the cracks *tear*.

(nerd!)

I am delighted to hear that "Pi" day has such meaning for you. The kids at my H.S. celebrate it too... usually with much feasting on roundish foods! Probably one of the best Math days all year. May "pi" live forever!
(Nice job on the baking too!)
