That's right, folks. Justin Smith actually went to Starbucks. ON HIS BIRTHDAY. It was a delicious triumph for Kelly and I.
For those of you who don't know Justin, he's an absolute coffee snob. That means he HATES Starbucks (which I can understand, but definitely not respect). So on his birthday, we paraded Mr. Smith to McDonald's and Starbucks before taking him to his REAL birthday restaurant. Somewhere in there, we gave him a fondue kit, too.
Happy 21st, J!

Todd W Liefer is a jerk a big jerky jerk face who likes to propagate his horrible taste on those whom enjoy finer things in life....
ps. thanks for a fun night T!
Those who eschew the ubiquitous Starbucks may believe they are bucking a trend ... avoiding an evil empire ... making some obscure stand in a world that should only drink, what? Meaningful coffee **sigh**
;-) Starbucks is like the mother ship - sure, is she a chain-ganged version of the original? Of course ... but it's as good as it gets this side of Mt. Rainier ...
I am proud of you, young T. Leaf. Lead them to the Mecca.
Well put! Take that, Justin the Eschewer!
Besides from the distributing of low quality arabica and robusto coffee beans, Starbuck aka. "Charbucks", has established a repuatation among coffee enthusiasts of poor quality control of their product. Not only is this an atrocity to a beloved beverage whose history pre-dates the Roman era, but it is also poor business standards. For those of us with taste buds and who enjoy coffee that is not burnt, this is more than an ideal about "a meaningful cup of coffee." Small business owners happen to be some of the most important and unrecognized contributors to American economics. While corporations who have allowed the ignorance toward a favored beverage to continue should hang their heads in shame.
ps. coffee distibutors such as Intelligensia Coffee & Tea Inc. of Chicago, Il. have great espresso (They have the #1 rated espresso in America). Starbucks does not even rate close!
"Ooooo, I'm Justin, and I can use big words, too!!!"
